Post-LAN Wrap-up December 16th, 2009

Our December 12th LAN party has come and gone. We were very happy to see such a great turnout. We had about 52 attendees, which made for some excellent gaming and camaraderie. The sponsors did a great job providing enough swag for everyone to go home with a little something. Aside from a brief power outage, (due to a misplaced extension cord) everything went very smooth. Thanks go out to our sponsors (AMD, Bawls, CPU, Crucial, Men of God and Health Depot) and all the staff that helped make it happen. Pictures are already up and can be viewed from the Gallery page. We are looking forward to hosting the next LAN and will release a date as soon as we have one.

One week to go! December 5th, 2009

Only one more week to go until the gaming begins! We are very excited to provide you all with one of the best LAN parties in Arkansas. There are currently 44 gamers signed up at this moment. We still have a few seats left, so if you have a friend that would like to come, please feel free to pass on an invite. Don’t forget to sign-up and pre-pay before you come. Something new to FSL is MTG (Magic: The Gathering), which we have added as a division of FSL and hope will be a hit, because we all love it! If you would like to take a break from the 12 hours of PC gaming, feel free to bring your Magic cards with you or watch a match in progress. Don’t forget to print the waiver and sign it, if you are able to and be sure to go over the Checklist (Printer Version) ahead of time. We are looking forward to seeing you all there!

Registration and prepay are now back online! If you have registered for the LAN and still have not prepaid, please do so. Not only will you have yourself five bucks, but also it will help us a lot! We have updated the Files page with the latest game patches and software needed for the LAN, so take some time and update your stuff. If you experience any issues trying to register or prepay for the LAN, please let us know via our Forums. We are excited to finally host another FSL event and are looking forward to seeing you there!

URGENT LAN Date Change! November 9th, 2009

Due to some unfortunate power issues with our venue, we have been forced to reschedule our LAN. The LAN will no longer be held on the 14th of November, but rather December 12th. We apologize for the short notice, but we ourselves were only just now made aware of the issue. The good news is, on the 12th of December, we will get to game uninterrupted by power issues as we will have an entirely new generator. Additionally, we should have a few more sponsors, which equals more loot for tournaments and door prizes!

We hope all of you will still attend but recognize that this new date may cause conflicts for some of you. To accommodate this, if you have registered and prepaid but are unable to attend on the 12th of December, simply contact us at LightBringer@FSLAN.com or call 479-653-3440 for a full refund. If you do not contact us, we will plan on your attendance and look forward to gaming with you on December 12th!

Diddly Diddly NEWS! June 10th, 2009

There are a few announcements, which need to be made for the months ahead. The LAN date has been moved to fall 2009 (September/October) with an exact date that will soon be announced. We decided to move the LAN due to too much going on with Quakecon as well as other local LAN parties. Also, our sponsors! The next LAN will be supported by two new sponsors: AMD and Crucial Memory. It is nice to have the companies supporting us, which make the products that we use and love. Everyone is really excited about our adventure to Quakecon this year. We hope all of you have registered and will be there with us this time around!

We are still alive! May 15, 2009

We thought it would be a good idea to update everyone on what we’re working on here at FSLAN and let everyone know that we are not dead, srsly. There has been some talk about having a LAN July 18th, but the date is not set in stone yet. We have a few things in the works for the next LAN, like: A dedicated ROM laptop with controllers (for anyone that would like to get nostalgic about the glory days), Built a dedicated server, and we are looking to host a Ventrilo server with rooms for each game and a DC++ server for file sharing. You will see more from us in the days to come… that’s a definite.

Mini-LAN Wrap-up January 16th, 2009

The Not-So-Mini-LAN was quite the success. Even though we planned on a 30-man cap, we just could not (Mosly Aaron >.>) justify shutting registration down and keeping people from coming. We are happy with how everything went and appreciate any additional feedback anyone has to offer. Thanks go out to our sponsors for all the great prizes we were able to give out to the tournament winners (aka Applesauce). We were able to do our first BBQ with great success (aside from Tony going emo with the knife) thanks to our sponsor Tony from MoG. All-in-all we had a great time and hope everyone else did too. We are looking forward to hosting the next event and should have some video/pictures available soon.

Mini-LAN Coming soon December 27th 2008

The FSL Mini LAN is fast approaching. If you haven’t had a chance to pre-pay please take the time to do so now. We have uploaded the latest patches to our files page so everyone can come prepared. There's nothing worse then spending a LAN installing and patching games. If anyone would like to take a break from the 12 hours of gaming, we have someone bringing a table top game that may be a lot of fun and a good reprieve to rest the eyes. 33 people have already registered for the LAN. We are looking forward to seeing all of you there.

Jan 10th Mini-LAN December 12th 2008

Hello gamers! I’m pleased to announce the upcoming FSL Mini-LAN party. It will be held Jan 10th 2009 at our normal location. This LAN is targeted towards our core group of gamers. There will be a limit of 30 attendees for this LAN so if you haven’t been contacted yet please email me ASAP. The Mini-LAN is our testing grounds for our large LAN parties. Anyone coming should take note of this as these LANs tend to be a little more laid back. We look forward to seeing you there

September 20th Updates September 24th 2008

The LAN has come and gone, and we hope everyone had a good time. Our official count was 44 gamers, a new record for FSL. This was the first time we have tried consoles at one of our LAN parties and it seemed to work out pretty good. We have the projectors to utilize for console so hopefully next LAN party we host we can do a Wii and a 360 on each screen. As far as the actual PC Gaming goes, most people seemed to have no problem finding a server to play on. Dota was a new addition and a big hit as well as Crysis Wars and of course there was always a CoD4 server running. We were able to give out a few pieces of swag thanks to some friends and sponsors. Special thanks goes Tony from Men of God, who donated most of the swag we gave out as well as did most of our photography. Our friends from Bawls donated a Bawls Bag and 3 baseball size stickers. Chuck from Davis Computer Works donated lots of EVGA Lanyards and a sweet mouse pad. Thanks to our buddy shyft for the donation of a sweet 2 GB Sandisk Cruzer! Our pictures from the LAN party are now uploaded and can be viewed from our Gallery page. We should be planning another 50 man some time in early December or January. Thanks to everyone that came out and supported FSLAN in our biggest LAN to date! We can't wait to see you all again!

LAN Updates September 16th 2008

The LAN is upon us and if you haven’t already signed up and pre-paid, please do so, this helps out immensely. The cut off for pre-pay is this Thursday, the 18th at midnight. Remember it’s $20 at the door if you don’t pre-pay. FSLAN also has some good news. MoG (Men Of God) is now sponsoring FSLAN. They have donated a case of Bawls and some tournament prizes for this weekends LAN. We stumbled upon a great deal for Bawls (Thanks Neon!) and are going to be selling them for $1 each at the LAN. There will also be free chips & dip and soft drinks. We can’t wait to see you all this weekend!

Servers, LANs and Staff! August 20th 2008

FSL has some good news! We have recently purchased a TF2 server and it is now 24/7. Along with our TF2 server we have also purchased a Ventrilo. Information on our servers will be in the “Links” section of the site and in the forums under “Our Servers”. We are also proud to announce that R3D is now part of the crew and will be helping out at the forums, servers and LAN parties. Some of us also attended the NWALAN Old School LAN last weekend. It was an awesome LAN party and a great change of pace. Thank you NWALAN for all of the work you put into hosting great LAN parties! We are looking forward to gaming with you all online and at our next LAN on the 20th!

September LAN & Quakecon Updates! August 8th 2008

Ahoy! We have decided to move our September LAN to the 20th due to interference with multiple schedules of the staff and a local event taking place on the 27th. The prepay is now active and will allow you to save an extra 5 bucks at the LAN (See top right corner of the website). We have also setup a LANAddict.com registration here, so please sign up ahead of time. On another note, Quakecon was awesome! We had an amazing time and are definitely looking forward to attending next year! Try to hit up or forums and drop a line or two, we are lonely!

Quakecon! June 16th 2008

This weekend (July 12th), we attended the “Pre-Quakecon LAN”. Greg hosted this lan and did a great job! There were no problems and everyone seemed to be having a great time. As far as Quakecon goes, FSL will be heading out of Fort Smith at around 6pm Thursday the 31st. We have a room reserved at the Hilton and we will be coming back sometime Sunday. Anyone passing through the Fort at around that time is welcome to caravan with us. We are looking forward to seeing you all at Quakecon and other future lans!
